Korean translator here. Let's see... I've translated most of the strings via WTS, and if I used the system correctly, Korean should be ready for testing.

Can anyone give me some pointers on how to jar'ify the translated extention? I would like to test a few strings out.

smile.gif hello, and thank you for your contribution smile.gif

To test your locale, there is not yet an automatic feature. You must repackage it the "old way", that is :
1. Download the extension at the top post of this topic
2. Download your own locale files as tar.gz (archive format) at the top of your locale page.
3. Unzip the extension, insert the dezipped locale at the proper place
4. Add a line for your language in the install.rdf and/or the chrome.manifest
5. Repackage all correctly and test.

Hi!

I registered as official translator and started translating the rest of the danish version, but is no longer shown as official translator.

Actually there is no translater shown, and since the translation is "in progress" i can't register as translator sad.gif

Can someone help me?

Kind regards, Mikkel

OK We will see to add you throughout the database. You will receive a message.
Sorry for the inconvenience - in any case, it is strongly recommended to have a local backup copy of every significant work done wink.gif

Just a few things. I hope this displays correctly:
+ What does 'recursive properties' mean? If I check 'read only' does this mean all files under that directory recursively have the 'read only' property applied?

+ Directories in Korean seem to have their names corrupted after a while (사진 > ??)

+ Also, in preferences.xul can you merge:
QUOTE
<listitem label="Sunjae Park (너를 ê°?사하십시요!)"/>
<listitem label="Darehanl (너를 ê°?사하십시요!)"/>

into
QUOTE
<listitem label="Sunjae Park (ê°?사합니다!)"/>

since both refer to me:-)

--
edit : use UTF-8 for displaying Korean
edit2: Never mind.. do you want me to edit preferences.xul and mail it to you?

as of yet, WTS cannot make xpi so anyway every translator should have their own xpi-build-environment for testing their translation ;-)
goofy's explain is right but that needs toooooo much more procedure so translator should translate on their local machine ;-)

Hi,

I've contacted the Russian translator to invite him on the Babelzilla.

About the missing strings, I think that a new minor release should be done (maybe 0.90.1.1) fixing the problem. It's a problem having to "hack" manually english files (a localizer should never do this).

Also, I'd like to suggest to take a look at the recommendations at Localization page at developer center, with special attention to the "Use a good chrome directory structure" at the Writing localizable code page.

Also, the current version, _as is_, can't be installed in firefox > 1.5, so a fix needs to take place. I know I can change the install.rdf, but that is only for personal use. Also, for those users who installed the previous version in 1.5, won't get the new update if the max version is changed, but the same version number is kept.

BTW, Urko has asked me to be in charge of es-ES translation, so please whoever knows what has to be done for this to be "official", let us know.

I've updated the italian translation.

I've seen that here in BZ there's still the old version. I attach to this post the italian translation for the new version

I've added version 0.92 to WTS. As I'm an idiot, I once again got all the translations deleted except en-US it seems. On the submit/update extension link it just does that though - it seems like the update extension should be able to merge things for locales. Anyway, off topic...

I noticed somebody had made a Croatian translation! Woohoo! It's about time smile.gif Hope you'll make it for v. 0.92

By the way, I put in useful comments in the actual source code:
http://www.mozdev.org/source/browse/fireft...c/locale/en-US/

and especially:
http://www.mozdev.org/source/browse/fireft...x-cvsweb-markup

Hope that helps.

Haha, nice. So, I forget - next time I should just upload new en-US files? Is that it? It's just been a long time since I've used Babelzilla.
